Did you just get this fish?

Did you buy it as a male or female?

It seems to be somewhere in between the two, which is the reason I ask. I am also wondering if you have had it a while and it came as a female and now is transitioning.

very nice buy. that scribbled looks like it is transitioning from female to male? i would be interested in future updates on this scribbled to see if it does become a full blown male without the presence of another scribbled.

i have a pr of female scribbled angels, ~3.5" and 4.25".

I bought it like this about 2 weeks ago....don't know if he will be changing further in absence of another scribbled...I'll keep you guys updated here in this tread:mixed:
He's still very shy and espescially when the lights are on:headwally:
when the lights are off he's swimming trough the whole tank:hmm3:?????????????
I hope he will come out more in the future.....in two weeks I will get my Xanthopunctatus:celeb1::celeb1: and that will be the last fish for my tank

I just ordered a small scribbled (2 1/4") from Diver's Den today. I haven't received my shipping confirmation yet, but anticipating receipt tomorrow or Friday. I've put this fish in my "cart" several times without pulling the trigger, but finally decided today that I was going to give it a go. This will be the priciest fish I've purchased to date, so hoping the LA/DD reputation hold's true. I'm very excited to have this fish and I think it'll make a great addition to my tank. I have a mixed reef tank with pretty much all types of corals. I'm to the point that I'm willing to select corals around the fish, so I may be pulling some out and replacing them with other types once I see if the scribbled takes a liking to anything specific. I'll post some pic's as soon as I can.

For those that are watching this thread, here it is. So far everything is going good, so fingers crossed it stays this way. I left certain corals in the tank to see what it had a taste for, and as you can see, it's already found one it likes. I'll be testing several different types over the next few weeks and will be replacing those that it does. I didn't expect it to be completely reef safe, but I'm willing to cater around it.

Great pic of the lil girl!!

Looks like almost all LPS will be food. I know my Scribbled picks at absolutely everything. It would even pick at Monti's really bad and then eat the slime. I wish you the best of luck! You will love this fish!

Sweet - that's a 500-$600 specimen right there! I love my Scribbled - it's awesome & eats everything.

Two days in and so far so good on the health front. She eats like a pig and shows no signs of disease. I wish my corals were as happy with her as I am. She has tasted just about everything in the tank, but seems to favor the acan's and big meaty wellso. These will be the first two items I pull from the tank. I'm closely watching my zoa collection, as I've got a nice mini-colony of darth maul's in there. She has tasted the same colony of green no-name zoa's several times now, but seems to be staying away from the nicer ones. The only corals she has not tasted as of yet (that I know of) are a frogspawn, hammer, and devils hand leather. I've kept a mixed reef in the past, so now comes the debate, full blown SPS or a much easier to care for softie tank. I have a lot of thinking to do...

let me know what you guys think if my scribbled looks like shes changing?

shes about 5.25".

Hey guys,

I got a 14cm Scribbled about 10 days ago and it us still very shy.

On the 5th day it did begin.coming out and are mysis at feeding time. Though on the 6th day I had to pull my rock work down and it's been scared again ever since! But this time it hasn't been eating anything the last 4 days..

What's the best food it should eat? I have ocean nutrition quintet, mysis, spirinula brine, own seafood megamix. It did touch some nori last week but didn't bother with it this week!

I'm worried!

You can try some bloodworms. I have fish that will sometimes not eat anything during QT, but will go after bloodworms.

My smaller scribbled(~4"), I had to relocate and rehab along with treating for a possible bacterial infection. When it wasnt going after mysis, it went after bloodworms.
