Scuba Class

Hi,

I am helping to organize a scuba class for Weds the 16th and then pool work on the following sunday, it will be a smaller group. SSI certification. Only about 10 or so people can attend and I think we have 5 already. I did this cert and went to San Carlos several times, I highly recommend it. This is in no way affiliated with my shop and I do not make one dime off it, just wanted to pass along a good deal. Cert will be 75 per person, the trip to San Carlos for checkout dive is usually about 300 per person and is awesome(Hotel and dive included).........Olin will be instructing. I did this last year and it was the best money I ever spent. I will be going on the June trip to San Carlos.....

Thanks
Rob

Rob,

How was the sealife down in San Carlos? I sometimes vacation there, but have never been diving. Have you dove Kino Bay? The hubby is recently certified, and I'm looking for close dive sites.

Thanks,
Darlene

San Carlos has some of the best bio diversity in the world. Only trumped by the Barrier reef and indonesia from what I hear. I heard Kino bay is not as good but I will find out soon :) 6 hour drive from Tucson and only 300 per person Hotel and diving threw Desert Divers. Highly recommend it.

I did my cert dives in San Carlos also.. awesome dives. On my 3rd dive on Seal Island it was hard to concentrate on doing my skills with all the Sea Lions swimming and playing all around.

This is an awesome deal, anyone even considering getting SCUBA certified better jump at this. Here in Hawaii it would cost 5 X that.

Rob, let me know if you want to set up a Hawaii dive trip after, I have a spare bedroom and a big back yard for tents if need be. Could be a free Hawaii dive trip minus plane tickets, groceries and tanks and or gear rental.

BTW the class has been moved, it will be next week Tues, weds, or Thursday around 6:45 pm. We are still working with everyone involved to set a solid day.

Heck yeah Ed, Any good resorts near you?

I was kind of indicating you could stay at the "Ed Rolling Resort", It's not the most lugereious place but if a group just want to come over just to dive I think we would have great time.

also no way do you want my kids in your home lol.......Maybe we can get a group there and rent a boat for a few days. Unlimited diving. Also any idea what you can collect on a game and fish license? I heard a few fish and some coral provided no rock is removed.

San Carlos is a great place to dive. The clarity is usually great this time of year, and you dont need to wear a heavy wetsuit. I have been there many times and I must say I am hooked. Good luck to all the new divers that go. You'll come back addicted!

I was certified in San Carlos and had a great experience. Lots of aquatic life to see and yes it was hard to concentrate on training with all the sea lions swimming circles around you. Shores dives are even fun. I have also dove Cabo San Lucas and Cabo Pulmo which has an SPS reef. The clarity and number of things to see was as good if not better in San Carlos. Have fun to all that get involved with the cert class. It's well worth the money.
