SCWD noisy

I just plugged my SCWD device in after having it laying around for about 6 months, I followed the instructions and didn't have it set full blast. Actually this is my first time using my new plumbing since I just finished up my cube. There sounds like a large rattle coming from the inside. Is this normal?

I have a few of these - you can hear the wheels spinning, but I wouldn't call it noisy.
But I did have one that sounded noisy and "broken" or loose, but I spoke to some guy a couple of times, returned it, and they promptly replaced it. I didn't yell or anything when it took them a couple days to return my 1st email, but once I spoke to someone, they had pretty good service.

well, I think they do cut the output some, I agree. But I think it's a decent tradeoff, as I have had very little problem with the two that i have running currently. They do a nice job alternating the current, and I am able to run a 120 gal tank with no powerheads in the tank.

It was suggested to me to put the SCWDs near the pump, down below my tank in the sump/refugium, and I did. About 8 inch from the pump outputs. That seemed to give me more power. I had them behind the tank before, up near water level.

I have two running on my 125. One is a bit on the noisy side. They have both been running for 2 yrs.
