sea clone (clown) mods

i was checking out the DIY page and the sea clone mod 1st tip was change the air flow adjustment cap to an air adjustment valve What is this valve and were can I get one. 2nd mod is cutting off the inner most tube 2.5 - 3 inches to increase reaction time can do this but worried about cannibalizing my skimmer seeing who its the only one I have any thoughts on these mods again Im new to salt water also my lights are current 65w dual actinic 460nm and 420nm they are very blue are they going to be sufficient for low light soft corals

I have done the second mod it is not that difficult dont worry about hacking it up..Its all about the frankenstein skimmers!!!

it does help..I mean your not going to get a euro reef by cutting it but you will see results...

trimming the collection cup riser works great also, after doing just that it started pulling a much thicker and nearly double what it was prior. The riser tube doesnt help too much did that later and didnt see too much of a difference. Not sure about the air valve, I looked at Lowes and HD and couldnt find anything that would work
