I have a new cucumber that arrived about 3 days ago. It almost looks like it is shedding now. I have searched, and there seem to be mixed opinions about this. Do they, or don't they, shed? Is it a sign of stress? Since it was a recent addition, I might expect stress, but might it be more than that?

Oh yes, I should have said. It looked weird when he pulled the old skin off himself, but all was well. He actually lived through the big disaster when my 150T cracked in the middle of the night while I was on vacation in June and is now happily cleaning the sand in the new 120. Seems to be a very tough fellow.
