Sea Cucumbers HELP!!!!

I just got two in the tank. For some reason they appear to be dissolving away. I cant figure out why....my water quality is well within acceptable ranges, but it appears that they are disolving away.

Do you know what type they might be?

Sea cucumbers are filter feeders, so if there isn't sufficient particulate food available, they might be starving. On the other hand, they might just be a type that doesn't do well in home aquariums (beyond being difficult to feed sufficiently).

After the tank was cycled I added 2 Tigertail in and first I thought the same thing but after a couple of days they both came out from under the rocks. Now I added 5 in the 75g and I hardly see them but they do come out once in a while.

btw--how is your experience with sealifeflorida.com?

What are your SPECIFIC water parameters? What is "normal" for things like fish is often fatal to animals like this (eg specific gravity should be 1.025-1.026)

How did you acclimate?

Sea cukes take months to starve, this is acclimation or water quality related.

Tanks, IMO, should be at least 6 months old (at least well established) before adding these animals.
