Sea hare + brown hair algae

Hi,

I’ve read several posts about how wonderful sea hares are at eating hair algae and I was wondering if they eat all types of hair algae. Or, do they just eat green hair algae? I currently am dealing with a brown hair algae outbreak and was considering adding a sea hare to help speed things along. I’m making some progress against it with manual removal and water changes but it is a very slow process. I’ve had it for about 3 months now.

My seahares ( now and previous ) ate almost any type of algae except for bubble.(hardly any bubbles but still didn't touch those ) decimated the culerpa, green hair and some other nasty hitchhicking algae.. Don't know about brown HA.

It will really depend on which species of sea hare you have and what species of algae the "hair algae" is.
