are sea hares hard to keep,i ask this because i can not keep one for more than a few days. the last one made it to day 3 i came home from work and he was belly up,that morning i watched him going across the sand bed and he seemed fine.the temp is79+/- ph is 8.2 , no amonia, no trites ,trates are at 25 , sg 1025, phos 0-to a trace, cal around425, alk 8.6 ,mag 1450-1500 . all tests done with salifert, i know these are not perfect numbers but everything else is doin fine. is it possible that something is in the tank thats going after them.

Sea hares need to be constantly eating, i have had mine for a while now and i have to feed him marine algae for him to live, they are kind of like cows and need to constantly eat. If there is nothing to eat in the tank they die fast.

I've had two and have not been able to keep them alive more than 6weeks even with nori feeding. They do a great job cleaning the filamentous algae in your tank and then die. I am not advocating this as a practice. It is my understanding that they live for about 2yrs or less in the wild

there is more than enough algae for them in my tank [green hair and briopsis] that should not be the problem. unless mine tastes funny or somthing like that

I think it will mow it down for you. Certainly the derbasia and proably the bryopsis,
