I bought one last week to clean up all the hair algae an cyano in my HOB refugium and in a week he has made my refugium spotless. I am astounded at how wonderful these slugs are.

Does anyone know what I can supplement his eating with? Nori?

you can supplement his feeding, but some people sell them or give them away to other people with bad algae problems. I don't think they have a very good long term success rate just staying in one tank, even if they are feed Nori. hopefully other people can give you more info.

it true

it true

I also bought one about two week ago because i had that same problem. My sea hare clean my tank of all hair alagae but he triple in size after eating all of it. Mine was a inch, now he three to four inches. Thank god i have a 55 gallon aquarium

wow that's sad to hear that after only a week I might have to sell or give him away. this guys is like rambo to algae. wish i could like keep him in a state of suspended animation.

I NEED ONE BAD! I have tried everything I can think of to get red of my hair algae. I've had my lighting cycle shorted to 4 1/2 hours for over a month now. (lost my orange cap because of it. Everything else is just small as hell) I have been doing water changes all the time, picking as much of it off as I can. I went through an entire bottle of Alagefix, which seemed to stun growth, but after picking most of it out and continuing to dose it grows right back. I've used Phosban and Chemi-Pure Elite since the beginning. I've tried blue legs, large turbos (Mex and Zebra), lawnmower blenny, and an urchin. They don't touch it.

Where did you buy yours?

Are you sure the R/O source water you're doing water changes with is good? That's where most get Phosphate issues which feed the algae.

You should be fine then water wise. Just checking to make sure.

I've also used SeaHares in the pass with good results. Ocean Direct here in Central, FL carry them all of the time. They're an ORCA sponsor so you can get their info on the ORCA site.

I pmed you firedude.
