Sea horses and crabs

So to explain the extreme importance of this topic let me give you some back ground. I had 3 aquariums set up and I wanted to set up another just for growing coral. So I had to make a deal with the wife, that aquarium had to have at least 2 seahorses so we picked out to hippocampus kuda juveniles (about 1"-1.5"). Well now that we have two sea horses in the tank she has named them and I am sure you all know what that means.... She checks on them at least 3 times a day which is great that she's is interested in the hobby but I now have some bubble algae and hair algae. Does anyone know if I get a few mithrax crabs (emerald or red) or sally light foots will they leave the sea horses alone? Right now my cleanup crew in that tank consists of Dwarf ceriths, florida ceriths, fighting conch, fuzzy chitons, nassarius vibexs and nerites. The only other none coral inhabitants are six line wrasse, signal goby, tiger pistol shrimp and bloody shrimp. I was originally worried about the pistol but he rarely comes out of him and the goby's burrow.

Anyhow any ideas on compatibility of those crabs or something else?

the ONLY crabs i'd keep with a SH are scarlet reef hermits (red w/yellow eye stalks), and to be honest, i don't keep ANY crabs in my SH setups ever since i saw a scarlet latch onto a SH's tail. scarlets are the most docile tho.

IMHO/IME crabs and SH don't mix.

The only crabs that I would keep w/ a seahorse would be a (non-anemone) porcelain crab (Petrolisthes spp.) They wouldn't help w/ your algae problem, and I would only house them with adult horses.

Becareful with your wrasse and with the type of corals you house w/ your horses. I'm glad your wife is enjoying them.
