Greeting, I bought a sea plant need identification.

It come on a rock.
In close look, kind of like bamboo. Body look segmented.

The closest I can guess is Manatee, but I doubt it. The source indicated Manatee is grown on sand bed substrate.

Yep, definitely not manatee grass. If you want to see some good representative shots of that try my website.

I'm really terrible at the ID game, sorry to say. I'd like to know also what this could be. In Delaware and Florida there is an interesting macro that looks very similar to this, also has that segmented look, and it grows in the extreme intertidal zone a few feet above the low tide line where the true seagrasses and other macro's start. It clumps on shells, rocks, etc. and go flat when out of the water. Ideas?

The only species that Ive seen that was even close to this growth pattern was Chaetomorpha antennina.. but I will certainly not suggest that's the only thing this could be, I'm sure there are plenty of macro's that share this same growth pattern.

Look like it gonna be a mystery to me.

Another observation:
When I put in the tank with common hermet crabs, 1 of the hermit consumed some of them.
It look like the hermit need to apply some "strength" to pull it off.
