Sea Side Aquatics DC-120 Skimmer

This skimmer has caught my eye and I was wondering if anyone has used it or any of the new SSA DC skimmers. I am looking to replace my SWC 150 because the pump is terrible. I have been holding out to find a Aquamaxx CO-1 but they are no where to be found (if anyone has one to sell PM me!) and I am becoming impatient. I really like that the SSA skimmer uses a DC pump. Here is a link to it: https://seasideaquatics.com/store/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=923

Thoughts?

tagging along. Would also like to get some feedback on this skimmer.

BTW, the link is awesome the skimmer is free . .

The only problem with skimmer with the body inside the skimmer is if the pump goes out your are screwed, all of my skimmer the pump is on the outside if the pumps goes out I can put in a competitors pump in there, since this is a DC pump it can even be a bigger problem, unproven reliability.
The price looks great ,SSA skimmers are really nice, they are one of who jumped on the Sicce line of pumps first.

Yeah, unfortunately I need something with a small footprint so whatever skimmer I am getting will have the pump in the body.

How bout a skimmer that sits on a stand, much easier to replace the pump with another type if if goes out. I know that SSA makes them and in your size requirement.

Yeah, that is one of the reasons I like the Aquamaxx CO-1 or even if I could find an Aquamaxx EM100. I have not looked at the SSA non DC skimmers yet.

Nice. That 5.5 may work well for me. Do you think it will be enough on my 65g? The tank is trending towards becoming a SPS dominated tank with some softies on the sand.

The only possible issue I see with it is that my skimmer section is 9" deep. They list it for 9.5"-11". I wonder how picky it is.
