I'm new to the saltwater hobby my tank has been up and running over 4 months Friday I bought a blue sea star and today he has his stomach hanging out help please I'm not in this to lose the beautiful picks I want in my little slice of the ocean

i assume you mean a blue linckia? those are not suitable unless you have a HUGE tank that is very well established. in new/small tanks, they will simply starve to death.

you might want to pose this question in the invertebrate forum, you will surely get more answers there.

That's how they feed. Expelling the stomache and kinda digesting the food like that.

But yeah on an off topic note.. blue linckia and fromias will starve in anything under 200 gallons and a year old (and there's no guarentee it will live in those conditions)
