Sea Urchin Confusion

Hi

I had this sea urchin with me for a few months (hitch-hiker) to a year and it is behaving strangely. Normally when I poke at sea urchins with a stick they would quickly scurry away as fast as they could go and if not I could flick them away from the rock. This little bugger after much poking and shoving would not move at all. It was not planning on going anywhere and it seemed to be glued to the piece of rock. I noticed underneath the rock that there was this white sponge like thing underneath it. With a closer examination I found out that it was not a sponge like thing but rather a blob of white something... I can't make it out and the closest thing I could say, or would like to say, is that it resembled a sac of eggs... I'm not even sure sea urchins laid eggs... (I had a long spiny sea urchin spewing semen all over the tank so this blob is a first) In any case... I don't know if I'm adding relevant info together but... its stubbornness to not move from the spot + random white blob = relationship?

Before you condemn me for randomly poking a sea urchin at 4 am in the morning, it knocked over my coral and I wanted to put it back into its spot which the spike is currently covering (2cm -_-). In any case I moved the coral to the sandbed hoping it would finally move away tomorrow. More info to come!

Here is the white blobby thing under the urchin
Picture is upside down but i guess the white blobby thing is above the urchin lol

P.S No its nothing dead, I know the carcass of a fish and anything similar so its not eating it. Close examination doesnt show it eating it either. (The mouth is scratching at it like normal)

can't tell what the white blob thing is from this picture but i looks like it could be a sponge.

are you sure your urchin wasn't just pooping? they poop a LOT!

Ya I thnik it was a sponge as well.... he moved like a few minutes after and I probably didnt notice it that much cuz a coral was in that spot.

On a side note their poop is little white dots or small dots and the color of what they eat. My huge spiny pooped TONS (was a small mountain of poop wherever he stayed to eat -_-)

I believe that's a a rock boring urchin (don't know the sp) so I'm not surprised you can't move him without using more force.
