SeaChem Salt Mix

A lot of this was given away at WMC. I was wondering what my fellow samplers think of it so far.

I came across a thread here on RC and a thread on ZEOvit.com that expressed concerns of how the borate in the SeaChem Mix effects the alkalinity readings in test kits. This could lead to damaging effects on SPS corals, more so with ZEO users, since they run a lower alk than non-users normally would, IIRC.

So far, it seems that the issue was with the buckets, and not the boxes, which we received at WMC.

Speaking of Salt - did Eric reveal the "mystery" salt?

I mixed up the bag I got from WMC. What I didn't like about it was the film it left covering everything. Really thick film. I didn't use it in my reef, just in FO and it was okay for that. I wouldn't use it again.

I really like it.
Yes it does leave a weird film on my mixing bucket each time I make up a batch.

I would like to know more about the alk thing, my Alk is always WAY high.
