SeaClone 100

Hi all! This is my first time posting on your forums. You all seem so nice and helpful. I am fairly new to saltwater (1 year). I have a 60 gallon tall reef tank with a couple of cardinals and 1 clown. I just bought a Seaclone 100 skimmer and I am trying to get it to work properly. Last night I was fiddling with the air valve trying to adjust it and it fell into my tank! I tried my best to find it but after moving rocks no results. Anyone have ideas as to what I can use or if I can buy a new airvalve??? Thanks for your replies!:o

Well I hate to say it but I have to. This was my first skimmer also and I was never able to get it to work right. For as much as they cost you can buy a lot better skimmer. I know you can buy replacement air valves and I think they used to come with the MJ power heads. Good luck with the skimmer.

"After I bought the skimmer" I read reviews and found out that it is not up to the job. I am stuck with it for right now. Just goes to show that you think it is a great price but you are not really buying anything. What a waste! Thanks for the advise!

If you can't return it then PM me your name and address. I'll mail you the airvalve off of mine. I'm taking it out of service tonight or tomorrow.

that is very nice of you ken to help someone its what the world needs more of the sea clone needs adjusting almost constant

It was my first skimmer too. The LFS's apparently love to sell them. They should be pulled from the shelves.

I still use mine on my 10 gallon QT tank. It is so fussy and I have to readjust it constantly. Like the others have said, I'd plan on getting a different skimmer before long. Good luck.

It is definately a rip off! I have fooled with it so much it is crazy. The only way to get foam is to leave the airvalve off. Which does lead to foam but also water. The collection cup fills up in about 15 minutes. With the valve in, it is worthless! Arrrrrgggg I will be saving up for a REAL skimmer! Live and Learn!
