SeaClone Skimmer Question......PLEASE HELP!

Do people like the SeaClone Skimmer???

IF you do, what do you like?

If you don't, why don't you like it?

I have a JEBO Seaclone Clone skimmer now that overflows with water (not skimmate) onto my floor almost weekly. Annoying! I'm going to trash it, but I was looking into buying a regular SeaClone for my tank from PetSmart today. If nothing else, I've never heard of them overflowing the way the one I have now does.

I just don't have $200-$300 to spend on a skimmer and this is not a problem I can afford to wait a few weeks on to get more money. Please help me out. I need to fix the problem today and for the money I have, I think the REAL SeaClone is about as good as I can do.

I've lost one full gallon of water in the last 24 hours due to the JEBO skimmer overflowing twice. I've adjusted everything, 100 times, no matter what I do, it overflows, all over my carpet. Not cool!:mad2:

Save your money and use it for a better skimmer. I started with a SeaClone and it leaked, did not preform, basically a waste of money.

Seaclone's generally get very poor reviews here on RC. I've got one running in the sump of my 40g, and it's doing OK -- I think they work better in sump than HOB. But for about the same money as a Seaclone, you can get a Corallife Superskimmer, and they have gotten very good reviews.

The LPS's by me are selling supperskimmers for about $260!

Petsmart has the Seaclone for $80.

See my problem?

I can get a superskimmer on ebay for about $120, but then I won't have it for a week. How will my tank be without a skimmer on it for a week?

I just don't feel I can have this one plugged up much longer.

Yep, your LFS is a rip off!
Tryhere or any of the RC sponsors that sell Corallife skimmers. These online suppliers are reputable and a good way to go when purchasing equipment.

It can go a week. Put an airstone in if you have one available for aeration and do an extra water change. Should be fine.

Wich one though..there is the 65,125,220

I would think maybe you saw the Superskimmer 220 that cost $260
the 65 in stores is usually like $115 and the 125 is $160...thats at my LFS

Go to www.bigalsonline.com and the superskimmer is 142 bux for the large one. I've bought alot from bigals and they are very professional. You should be fine for a week without a skimmer, just do an extra water change.

I got the OK from the wife to spend $200. I am going to call the LFS by me and see which SuperSkimmer they had. If it was the 220 for $260, that's not the one I need.

I will probably end up buying the 125 either on line or at the LFS today. Thanks for the help. I'v read up a little on the Coralife Superskimmers. They seem to have a solid reputation, unlike the Jebo Seaclone peice of crud I got!
