Seagrass Online Store?

The pinned/stickied topic just a few threads up called "Where to get seagrass and macroalgae" (or something to that effect) lists several sources for seagrasses. :)

Thanks guys, I saw that thread after I posted. Florida pets looks good. What kind of lighting would I need for the shoal grass or manatee grass? I have a 125 gallon aquaium, but would only have the grasses under 1/3 of the aquarium. Does that mean I can buy expensive lighting for just 1/3 of the tank? What type of bulb, etc? Thanks!

What kind of lighting were you planning on? PC or T5's would work great. Mix in some lower K bulbs to keep the plants happy.

Have you read this yet?

Seagrasses

It was written by Samala, a very informative article.

BTW the 125 is going to be a great seagrass tank, mine is in a 100 gal 6 foot like yours. Only difference is the 100 is shorter height wise, I'm really wishing I had done it in a 125.

Why only light 24" of the tank? For kelvin between 6500k and 10k would work just fine. I have tha NOVA t5 36" fixture on another tank. The cooling fans and LEDs are a nice feature.

I'm curious too. You could put an MH spot over this 1/3rd section and have it filter out to the other areas. Might be an interesting shadowy spot for some softer corals that aren't light-fanatics. Or just an interesting forced focal point.

Typical T12 four-foot bulbs? That will do fine for macroalgae and perhaps Halophila species seagrass. Not so sure on Halodule.. I would definitely bump up the light for them. Interesting sounding approach by the way. If you can, try to have the same color ratings on the bulbs in both fixtures to avoid a mismatched look.
