Seagrass question

The end of last week I got my first seagrass, Thalassia. It looked pretty good and plenty of root structure. The ends of the blades are starting to wilt and die back. I dont know if its from shipping or acclimation or anything else particular for that matter. My lighting is a little on the low side, but my corals are doing well so it seems as though it should be enough. Any way my question is should I trim the dead tips, or just leave it alone?

It is very common for all seagrass transplants from the wild to lose their leaves slowly once introduced to the aquarium. Once the leaf tips start to die back the whole leaf usually dies, so trimming isnt necessary, just wait for the leaf to brown up and fall off just short of the 'stem' of the plant. :) Thalassia, Zostera, Halodule, Halophila and Syringodium all do this.

If your plants completely lose their leaves, don't be alarmed. The roots are probably still alive and will put new shoots up.
