seahare with unknown attachment

I come home today look in my fish tank and my seahare has some odd looking thing attached to him..its long green has a pouch with a orange tip...

yea it seems to be attached to his head...its not coming out of his mouth or anything so i dont know what it is....

wipe off your glass and try taking a pic with your camera set for macros if you can. its the little flower symbol on most cameras. I cant see anything in this picture =( sorry.

That is its penis. Normally it's retracted into a pouch on the side of the head, but when these animals are in poor health, for some reason or another they seem to have trouble keeping it hidden. Unfortunately, this is almost always a sign of imminent death.
