After trying this creature In my tank for about two weeks, It seem to not like to eat the red turf algae that I got It for. It has completely rid my tank of any green algae that was present and It's time to pass him along to someone with a hair algae problem. It Is harmless to your tankmates and corals, It's kinda like a big snot blob but does the job on algae. Just want what I have Invested back so 20.00 takes It.

Hmmmm... how about Maynard?

Do these guys eat razor caulerpa?

Steve

No they don't, but my blue hippo does! :)

Well, it's a 20 gal, so no hippo. Even if I put a small hippo in there it wouldn't last 5 minutes. I got some mean clowns...

When I used to have it, I just yank it out as close to the rock as possible to try to remove it's root system. If it's on a rock you can easily remove, take it out and dry it up to crisp for couple months out in the sun baking. Then you can re-use it again without problem.

Please for the sake of "snot blob" just remember that those things easily eat themselves out of their tanks and can easily starve... so just be sure to pass him along earlier rather than later. If it starts hiding more during the day and is not out eating (or obviously eats all of the algae), he's gotta go.

I'm very glad we have a snot blob activist in the club. It makes me feel better about global warming, which is the reason we've had the 4th coolest summer since the late 1800s. *sniffle*

:D :p :D

They call it "climate change" these days because one of the predictions that falls out of the destabilization of our atmosphere is "extreme" and out of the ordinary weather (which includes hot, cold, wet, dry, etc.) and not just record heat. So... while we have had one of the coolest summers on record, it is also one of the wettest when only a couple of years ago we were experiencing record heat and a pretty bad drought...and in any case scientists would argue that making conclusions on a small sample size is a bad idea :) But... I won't really argue this with anyone. All I know is that there are a lot of preventable things humans are doing that have a definite negative effect on our environment and the health of wildlife (and often times people).

But really... the only reason I was on the prowl on this one was because I don't really want anyone to accidentally kill the little guy. They have a face not even their mother can love :)

I'm with ya, man. Just messin'. :) I generally won't argue it either and often cite a small sample size as well. :)

Agreed on the seahare... who has tons of algae for this dude to eat?
