Hi All
I am new to this forum and am hoping to learn a lot from all of you. I have had my seahorse tank for about a year - started with 2 female erectus which were doing great for several months and pretty much happy with frozen mysis.
Added a couple of Calfornia Gold female seahorses after about 6 months and they didn't make it - one lasted about a month and the other perished shortly thereafter - don't have any idea why, but they just didn't seem to thrive.
Then one of my original girls (who are now nearly 8" long) went off her feed but I was able to get her back in sync with the help of 2 new girls and live brine - I have had the new ones for about 3 months and they have been doing great - pigging out and growing well. One is very shy but the other is normally out in front, begging for food - dives right in when I feed them - generally being a pest with the other seahorses by hanging on and "going for a ride"
Now the new one that is very tame and not shy is acting really weird. When I put their food in a couple of days ago she totally freaked out and went zipping around the tank, crashing into stuff, doing cartwheels and acting just nuts. Eventually she settled down, but it weirded me out.
I did a 25% water change and left things quiet overnight and then fed again ths morning and wammo - back to her freaking out.
Any ideas? I am really worried about her
Thank you
