Seahorse and Pipefish for a Nano 12 g

Hey Everybody,

I was wondering if it was possible to set up a seahorse or pipefish in a 12 gallon nano tank. I plan on waiting until it has been established for some time with live rock, some basic corals etc, but I figured I'd do some future planning for stocking. I was thinking a dwarf seahorse or small pipefish. Where's a good source? Any input or experience would be great.

Thanks.

Dwarf SH should not be kept with corals and there tank needs to be near sterile and need to be fed twice a day on bbs. You might be able to do a bluestripe pipefish, but ONLY if its trained to eat frozens.

If your thinking very small seahorses, you must not have any strong water pumps or intake pipes that will suck your seahorses up.
Pipefish do better with stronger flow. I should say "tolerate".

Nano cubes are not the best option for seahorse.

Stock they have too much flow and get too hot. Seahorses should be kept at 74 or lower.

You can mod the break up the flow and buy a chiller. But in a 12 gallon you can keep only dwarfs...its to small for any other seahorse. Dwarfs need low flow so it'd require quite a bit of modification. If you want to keep seahorse you'd be much better off setting up a different type of tank for them.
