1 of my seahorses is floating to the top of the tank he has air bubbles on his belly he doesnt really look swollen but i did try to clean his pouch of air and i get some but it doesnt help anything else i can do ?

When my horse got air in his pouch it took 2 times to get it all out. I used a small silver pin to get him to open his pouch and when he finally opened it with my thumb I was pushing up and it worked out that way.

Unravel a flat-ended paper clip. Hold the seahorse in one hand and use the other to push the pin very lightly into his pouch. You should see some bubbles come out. After that, you can just gently rub your finger up his pouch to get the rest of the bubbles out.

Be very careful. You don't want to damage the pouch. This is a very stressful experience for ponies.

Sounds like a brood pouch or swim bladder issue, is it a male what position does it float in

I had the same issue in the past and used a rubber tipped Bobby pin to open up his pouch and try to gently let some air out and it never came back;

If you try that method be sure to have a gentle firm grasp and let him wrap your pinky, and another important thing to note Is the brood pouch is a very obvious existent opening that is located below the anal fin, you do no need to apply any pressure or make amy incision to open it, it is already open your simply trying to move its edges to let air out

I almost considered giving my horsea surgery without knowing better until I looked at him and realized the open is quite large and already open

Also i forgot to mention that if you have air stones that may be the cause of how his pouch got or continues to get air, if it in it may be a bacterial infection etc and require other treatments
