Hi, could people please post full tank shots of their Seahorse tanks. I am curious to see other people's setups. I have a 34 gallon red sea cube with macro plants and 2 seahorses. I havent found any pictures of complete full seahorse tank set-ups. Thank you very much.

Well, I'm "sort of" new here...I registered a long time ago, but I'm not a regular reader. Some people may recognize me from other forums I've been on, though. Here's a FTS of my tank - it's a 37 gallon column, with a 150w MH light, Rapids Pro sump, and 2 Koralia-1 powerheads. This tank has been set up since Dec. '09.

Even though you can only see one, there are 4 H. erectus horses in here, plus 2 green mandarins (Mated male/female pair). Yes, the mandarins are weaned to eat frozen mysis.

Here's a FTS including the stand while I was rebuilding the stand and canopy. The cabinet to the right holds the Rapids Pro ATO unit and an AquaEuro chiller:

Nice, This weekend I drilled the same tank for my wife's seahorse tank. Can you PM me a link to your build thread if you had one? I don't think links to other forums are allowed.

LOL I keep seeing this thread after my lights are down. I'll try and remember to take/post a pic tomorrow.

Thanks! And I think you're right. PM in just a mo'......

If I had the option to do it, I would absolutely drill this tank for a gl*******s overflow. The rapids pro is surprisingly good, though, as long as you don't try to use their laughable version of a skimmer.

This is my seahorse macro tank. Its a 34 gallon Red Sea 130D. I want to add larger pictures but I forget how. I currently have 2 seahorses, 1 red fire shrimp, lots of snails and hermit crabs.

Thanks, I like your tank alot too. I like the tower look. The cup is the feeding station. Its deep so most of the mysis stays inside the cup.

took these yesterday of course my erectus are hiding. hopefully soon this will ll be moved to my 65g tank. (recovering from back operation).

Wow a couple of those tanks are SICK! Always loved the sea horses just never got the offspring to survive so had to give it up. Congrats on some awesome tanks guys!

I really like the first tank picture...I was going for that sort of look but it ended up being more of a triangular formation after rearranging my rocks a couple of times due to corals falling. I also like namxas's macroalgae arrangement...but I don't see the seahorses!
Here are 2 pics of my tank:

Greg, I love that Macro garden you created for your horses there. Every time I see this pic it makes me want to start a new Macro-only SH tank....the juxtaposition of the macros against the branching rock is really beautiful IMO. And the black background on this is just perfect.

JCK16, thanks for the compliment. The rock structure on mine was built using dry tufa rock and great stuff foam on a PVC frame. Since there was no initial live rock in this system, it took a little longer to cycle than usual. The only "live" rock I added was whatever was attached to corals, but the microfauna still managed to seed pretty quickly. I discovered that bristle worms and amphipods both LOVE to burrow in the foam...I have quite a few bristle worms, but I only remove them if I think they're too big for their many-legged britches.

Oh, who am I kidding....ALL of these tanks look fantastic! MTC, how are those candy canes doing with the horses? Are they open a lot, or do they stay closed up much?

looks like you've got a red sea ozone generator on this tank...I just picked up one of those units (trade with local reefer) but I haven't set it up yet. Are you running it through your skimmer? I plan on putting the ozone on my seahorse tank, probably through my skimmer, but I'm researching ozone reactors as well..

yes it is through the skimmer . read your other post it should also have a air dryer as well. i lucked out and got the ozone generator air dryer and air pump with tubing of ebay for 150 . i was very happy with that deal.
