Can I keep a pair of seahorses in my reef tank. Its a 55g with 1 false percula, 1 lawnmower blenny. I plan on adding a pair of bicolor angles and a phew other docile oddballs.

My original plan was to try to keep them in my 20g fuge but want that space for an angler now! My girlfriend is a horse girl and would kill me if I didn't find a way to keep seahorses!! I am a big fan of predators so I really want an angler.

just realized that was a way to vague answer. lol.

why you shouldnt:

1. standard reef temp is 80. way too high for horses. they will be prone to bacterial infections.

2. the tankmates seem kinda aggressive.

3. seahorses are dirty animal. dirty=more nutrients in the tank, more nutrients=bad for corals=nuisance algae

You can keep them in there if you remove th0se fish and any stinging corals/anemones and then drop the temperature to mid 70's or a bit lower.
You will have to do more work keeping the tank clean, much more than as just a reef tank.
Protect power head intakes so tails can't get caught, and make sure overflows won't suck slow moving seahorses up against them.

you could always plumb a small but tall tank right into your existing setup and run a seperate dedicated tank for the horses right next to your reef, you can pick up a nice hex setup stand light and all for cheap anywhere and not need to worry about all that extra equiptment with running 2 tanks.. mind you same thing will still apply about having to keep it really clean because horses are messy.
