seahorse or clownfish?

As far as easier, Seahorses,, NHB from the gett go,, no heater required, My personal experience with both Seahorses are easier,,, but the more rewarding would be the Clownfishes.

What size tank are you thinking of? What type of clowns or seahorses? What part of the country are you in?

Either one you will need a lot more than a fish tank & a pair of fish. With SH. you will need to hatch BBS. everyday for the first month when you feed the fry. With clownfish you will need cultures of rotifers up & running pryor to the fish breeding. Both are easy to get them to spawn, it's raising the fry & growing the cultures is the hard part.

as far as tank size i was thinking 3 20 gallon tanks for 3 pairs of true perculas. i would love to do one pair white and black although dont know if that is harded? i was thinking 3 10 gallon tanks for different stages of the larval and baby stages. and then possibly a 50 gallon for growing them out when there older and wiating for a home.

also was going to use a asm g2 skimmer about 30 pounds of live rock for now and a very large UV light.

i live in southern california. the tanks will be set up in a FFA greenhouse at a high school. the main thing i am hesitant about is the live food, ive never done that before. the live food can be done a few months after the pairs are put in though right? so i can do a lot of research on that part.

Are you in Costa Mesa?

Santa Barbara

See if you can contact Costa Mesa High. They are right across the street from Orange Coast College. I think they might have a program going? But I am talking about something over 10 years now. I will ask someone from the org about this for you.

Tim

PS.

GO HOLLAND!!!!!!!!

I'm in Orange County and if we were closer could probably help you get started with the live foods. I have seahorses and raise brine shrimp for one of my seahorse tanks.
