Seahorse specie question ?

Can anyone tell me what the smallest seahorse and are they harder to keep up with ?

The smallest you can keep is the dwarf seahorse. They max out at around 1-1.5". They need to be kept in aquariums ten gallons or smaller, and they need to be fed live food, only. They are hardy and very prolific, except you need to be careful with hydroids, since they will kill them. Also, I stopped keeping dwarves because of the constant hassle of hatching BBS.

Are hydroids a pest that can be seen ? So which is the easiest to care for because this is a first for me ?

will you be able to hatch brine shrimp daily and feed ?

if not, then go with larger seahorses.

Erectus, Kuda, and Reidi are the easiest to keep.

What experience do you have already?
Fresh water tanks? Salt water tanks?
Keeping seahorses is more work than keeping a reef tank, IMO, and would not normally be called "easy".
I stopped keeping dwarfs because of the PITA aspect of feeding, but I can't say standard seahorses are easier. They just have somewhat different needs, but still involve a fair bit of your time compared to standard salt water fish.

I have both fresh and saltwater . My wife would like some seahorse , but I'm researching before I go that route , thanks fellas .

Personally, I prefer the larger seahorses as I felt the work to keep my dwarfs was disproportionate to the pleasures I received from them.
There are some links at the bottom of "My Thoughts on Seahorse Keeping" written by experienced seahorse keepers and a most helpful commercial breeder.
It's a good starting point for those wanting to get into the hobby.
