seahorse temperatures....I think the lfs guy lied to me!!!

I went to the lfs and asked what temperature the seahorses like it at and Ive heard that they like the cooler temps but the lfs guy told me that they were caribbean seahorses and liked temps of 75-80 degrees. Are there any seahorses that like warm water (like caribbean seahorses) like that or did he lie to sell me one.
 
I wouldn't say he lied to you because in the wild seahorses can be found in warmer waters. HOWEVER, in a tank it is advisable to keep even the tropicals in water no warmer than 74F. Any higher than that and you're asking for illness issues.

Gotta remember the ocean is just a bit bigger than our tanks ;) Pathogens in the ocean are diluted by it's vastness. However, in our small tanks those pathogens, which reproduce rapidly at higher temps, can really devistate a seahorse tank.
