Seahorses and Harlequin Shrimp?

Hi everyone,
I currently have a 29 bowfront with 3 H. Erectus, a yashia goby, and a tiny sunset anthias (for now, I plan on moving him into my 75 reef when hes larger) Id like to add a few harlequins to the tank, I think theyre pretty awesome and theyd help out with the asterinas. Any reasons why I shouldnt add a pair? Or any special requirements? Thanks

John

The real problem with those shrimp is that once those anthias are gone, you will have to feed them regular starfish and that can foul the tank. I used to have one and I kept it in a HOB fuge (I hung it on the side so I could see the shrimp). I used to feed it chocolate chip starfish legs. I had to do more water changes because I had the shrimp.

They are very pretty shrimp and I think they are best in a tank where you can see them very well. They like to hide behind the rocks so if you have too many, you don't really see them much.
Just a couple things to think about. I hope that helps.

In a large tank with alot of live rock, they will stay hid.I have a pair in my 120 with about 160 lbs of live rock,I may see them once a week.I keep a couple of chocolate chip stars in my sump, and one in the dt for the shrimp.

Thanks for the responses. Peka, by more frequent water changes you mean multiple times weekly? Im doing 5 gal once a weekish right now, would that be enough? Ive got a million asterinas in my 75, so I can keep up with the food for now. I dont have alot of live rock in the tank now, maybe 30 lbs, and its mostly piled half high on the right. I also didnt think about them eating the shrimp as well haha. Mine are pretty good eaters so I wouldnt be surprised if they do try to go after them. Thanks again

John
