Hello All,

I am looking for contact information for a woman here in Albuquerque that raises seahorses. I would like to get in touch with her because I am interested in starting a tank with seahorses in the near future and from what I remember she was really successful with them. Any help in greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I havent heard from her in a while..try asking rob at swr or Mike at Clarks (she used to come in there as well)...

why dont you just do TR ones they usually feed on frozen enriched mysis?? They really have some along way over the years..

Thanks for your replies. Guess my research begins. Anyone know of a good source for healthy stock?

Just be careful with wild caught sea horses. To say the very least, they are very picky eaters. I tried to hand feed one with an eye dropper for 2 weeks while it starved to death.

I will stick to TR or CB I think. Don't want to contribute to depleting our wild population. This is great, I am really getting excited about this. Gotta find some good info and books.

I don't think seahorses are particularly rare in the wild, however, I personally found the wild ones to be very hard to keep alive. I found that they just don't like to eat anything frozen.

Hi CJ,

No no ponies yet. I have been researching here and there as time allows. I will probably hit you guys up with questions as I go along.:fun2:
And I will post pics when I get them going.

hope so dont see much seahorses in the pet stores around here would love to see em in action

I'm excited to hear about the seahorse progress. They've always fascinated me, but I definitely don't think I have the time to take care of them. I'm sure they are worth it though!

Hey Guys,

Well it has been along time(really busy) but my seahorse tank is up and cycling FINALLY. I am wondering though...........DO I need calcium and alkalinity? I have not been able to find any info in regards to this. Will let the tank cycle for about a month and test daily. Now to locate some cool seahorse for when it is ready.YEA!!!!
