Thanks Billie. The Xenia is growing fast. Hopefully, can keep it contained to rock it is on.

I doubt it---its also known as reef weed:D

I can see why by its growth rate (xenia), going to frag some of it to keep it in control to trade to LFS's for supplies and other corals. ;)

the algae growth etc on the front glass beneath the sand bed is indication that your sand bed is very healthy too.

If you want you can keep that clean by taking a scraper between the glas and the front sand bed--it won't harm the life in the sand bed doing it that way
Once a week I take a turkey baster and lightly baste the reef rock and sand bed. This stirs up organics and phosphates back into the water column where they can be filtered out of the tank and as a result makes it hard for algae and cyano to grow there.

Good tips Capn, will do that! Also, regarding other comments. I think I am going to get a background. I always clean front & sides of tank well, but algae growth in back glass could be better hidden using background. Wanted to ask also, is that coral to left of my Xenia a Recordia Mushroom? This is what I was told, but it is huge & still has only one mouth and hasn't split.

Ahhh, your referring to my current tank size. Well, I plan to get a 180gal tank this year to move him to. The one I have now is a juvenile, and I haven't loaded up my tank with fish, either. The fish I do I have; consideration to adult size, behavior, aggression, etc., have all been reserched before aquisition with respect to starter tank in now & future tank.

Nice job on the scaping, keep up the good work. Is the heater really needed with all those pumps in there?

Thanks Atrox, and that's a good question about heater. The way my wife runs the air conditioner, I was wanting to error on the side of caution by trying to keep temp. from fluctuating much either way.
