Sebae

I have had my sebae for a couple weeks now. It had originally moved under the rocks due to my halides and the lfs having pc. It was very bleached and white. It has since started inching out of the rocks and becoming very tan. I just watched it poo a string brown substance then it closed its mouth back up. It is still looking fine health wise etc. Could this be it expelling zooanthelea since it is healing up well? I also feed it about 6 days ago a pice of squid. There is also a porcelain crab hosting so I say it gets fed well.

Edit: There has been a little stress due to storms/tornado here. I lost power the last 2 days but just for a very short time. I am not sure if this has any effect but adding all the info. In the process I also lost water so my salinity lowered a little bit. Salt is on its way here and I will be raising it back up tommorow. I am not sure how much it went down due to lending out my hydrometer but I am sure it did.

If you lost water due to evaporation, then that needs to be replaced with FRESH water...but I assume you know that.

Feed the anemone small pieces of any (thawed) frozen meaty foods. By small I mean no larger than a pea, and not too many at one time. Sounds like the anemone is getting healthier and slowly acclimating itself to your lighting. Should be a good animal if you keep good lighting and flow. I have had mine for 8 years. Also it is a good host for maroons or ocellaris, mine has hosted breeding pairs of both.

Yeah I know. No I lost water due to power outages and my skimmer went crazy. It is an hob. Thanks for the info. The nem was fully out of this rocks this morning and looking well. Think it just getting used to my lighting / flow.

Do you have any pictures of it by chance or someone willing to come over and take some. I am always interested to see how other people's sebaes heal up when they buy them bleached as I am going through the same thing right now. Mine is only about 3 inches in diameter and has been slowly turning brown in a few areas and my small clown uses it as a host at night. Please keep us posted on yours.

Unfortunately all I have is a cell phone and my 20k halides make it very difficult to get good pics of anything. Very blue. I will see what I can do though. Plus he is hiding in the back now which makes it even more difficult.

I can understand that. Mine is in the back top right corner on a rock that angles up and it is difficult to get a decent pic of mine.
