Here is a pic of my sebae after a day.....he looks to have set up shop..... But I notice his mouth is open ..... He is really sticky and his yellowish foot looks solid.... Is he healthy

I also ready they get most of there food from light so should I leave my light on all the time and turn it to the blue uv light at night?

He is about 2.5 to 3 inches long

Can you get a closer, more focused picture? From your pics, it looks like an anemone I have. Does yours look similar to mine?

Here's a pic with flash, shows the brown better.

Here's a pic with no flash, shows the purple better.

Mine's 4-5" big. The last couple pics makes me second guess my first guess. Can you post a pic of the tan spots and the yellow foot?

I'm guessing a malu, but that's just a guess. You want to mimic the reef, 12 hours light, 12 hours dark, some reefers only do 8 hours light, but anemone's seem to do better with a little more. What lights are you using? Your tank looks kind of new. That's a really nice anemone you found.

I got a t5 light 48", I bought the tank and pretty much started from scratch back in mid feb. I wish I had more coral line but it takes time....... I picked the sebae up a few days ago, there was two..... The purple was what caught my eyes. Wish it was love at first sight with my two clowns but that is not the case, so been watching you tube videos. The tank only has two clowns one a true p the other a snow flake black, and a coral beauty. A few hermit crabs and a few snails. It is fully cycle thou

Malu is my guess. Nice nem! It may take time, but I would think the clowns will eventually take to it. Give it time. Those first couple pics had me wondering.

The "poop" looks to be the nem getting rid of the algae that resides in it's tissue. It may become lighter in color in the coming days as it acclimates to your tank, if it keeps discharging it's algae. Try not to disturb the anemone and let it adjust to your tank. It looks to be in fairly good shape for just coming in. Best of luck to you, it's a beauty!

The first couple pics were blurry enough, and I have gig on the brain, I started seeing things. :hmm5:

Your purple malu is a pretty rare find. I wasn't expecting it to be what it is, purple gigs are hard to find, but easier to find than what you have... Very nice, I hope it acclimates well for you.
