what type of lighting do you have? what K bulbs?

how long has this tankl been running?

also I would unplug the airline from the maxijet.

I hate to say this but if that is calurpa growing on your liverock you will probably want to get new rock,It will grow over everything very quickly and can crash your tank.

"also I would unplug the airline from the maxijet."
agreed Sam, i was gonna ask about the pH level!

a small FoxFace Lo would devour the calurpa!
being a 30G, it would have to be small and removed soon to predetermined location, a 30G is too small for them to remain in for very long.
i would try to find one about 3" - 3.5" maximum, they are fast growers and swimmers but, they love calurpa!!! :smokin:

I have removed some of the calurpa...The place i got the rock from sells quality cured rock from what i have been told by others and the owner of the store threw the calurpa in for free. I forgot to get something to eat it though. He told me it would grow fast and if it got out of control to just take it out or get a damsel or something to munch it down. As for lighting I just have a reef sun 50/50 17 watt bulb and i modified the fixture with cold cathode tubes for moon lights....temporary until i can generate more cash for better lighting.

oh yeah the bulb is 6500k daylight according to the packaging it came in and tank has been running for about 2 months.

I would get rid of as much Calurpa as you can. Best thing is to take it out by hand. Throw it away in the trash can!

Got rid of the calurpa at least most of it. Now i am looking to upgrade the lighting. I added 7 more lbs. of live rock today...got a bonus starfish in the deal.
