Second hand RO/DI possible issue

Always bring a towel
I purchased an older 4 stage Spectrapure RO/DI unit with an additional DI canister from a RC member. When I mean older, it's manufacture date is in 1999. Whatever, I mean it's basically a bracket with some containers, and fittings. So, I installed the unit tonight, got water going through the thing, and it's only producing 0 TDS water, and no waster water. This was measured both with a HM Digital dual inline TDS meter and a HM Digital TDS 4 handheld unit. This is the first RO/DI I've owned, but I was expecting there to be some waste water. There is a pressure meter screwed into the DI cartridge, but it is reading 0 PSI, so either it's broken or something else is going on. All of the clear cartridges are full of water. What should I look for, if there is a problem with the unit.

As an aside, I'm planning on replacing all the filters other than the sediment filter and the last DI, because it appears to be brand new.

it should have a flow restrictor, it will be in the yellow waste line, go to specatrapure site, should be able to find the manual for it, it will show were the restrictor is.

Here is my actual unit

There should be 3 lines connected to your ro membrane. Input from you carbon block
Output to your DI
Waste.

The flow restrictor will be on the waste line.

That picture looks like it's hooked up wrongly. Why is there a T in the carbon block with what looks like the output of the RO and the input for the DI hooked up to it?

Can you describe how your system is hooked up? Tap to sediment to carbon etc etc

I had it hook up incorrectly. The flow restrictor was on the input line from the water supply. I also had the two discharge lines from the RO backwards.

So the system is sediment on left, card on in the middle, RO on top, and first DI on the right, and second DI in the separate canister.

That T coming off the first DI is the sensor hookup to this.

Wow, did those pictures come out big. Tapatalk and direct image placement seems the wrong way to go.

so are you now getting 4:1 waste to good water?

not sure what that monitor does, i would most likely just remove it.

I haven't tested the ratio yet. I'm planning on it. I need to pick up some more 1/4" tubing, and I'm going to replace that T with a 90.

So I have everything hooked up, and producing 0 TDS water. According the the pressure gauge, I'm running at 85 PSI, is that to high? Do I need a pressure regulator?
