Second tang?

I have a Whitetail Bristletooth tang in a 72x24 tank and I would like to add a second tang. The Whitetail is about 3.5-4", what are my options. Is a purple tang out of the question? I have and will use a large size Reef Gently acclimation box.

You could do the purple in this size tank with your whitetail, but they can get pretty aggressive sometime. very beautiful fish. check out the post on them in this forum.

good luck

You should be ok to add any suitably sized Tang not in the Ctenochaetus genus. When you are ready to add it to your tank, I would definitely advise using an acclimation box. You may also need a mirror on one side of the tank to keep the Whitetail occupied.

Thanks guys. I'm wasn't too worried about the whitetail being the problem. He's unbelievably laid back. He was in with a much smaller C. binotatus and never bothered him at all. I was more worried about the zebrasoma getting after him. Definitely will use the acclimation box.
