Sediment filter clogging fast on RO/DI unit

Zalick

My reef tanks my wallet
A brand new zeta zorb clogged after just processing 250 gallons yesterday. 20% pressure drop.

Anyone have cost effective ways to filter out large sediment?

I was thinking about setting up an additional 3 stage sediment filter. Have the stages be 5 micron -> 1 micron -> .2 micron.

Then hopefully I'll be replacing the less expensive ones instead of the spend .2.

I always run 2 sediment, I had some beyond nasty city water that would do the same.

Well water?

And now that I finished making 100 gallons of RO, about 300-350 gallons total processed, the zeta zorb output pressure dropped from 60psi to 10psi!

I've always had high sediment but this is really bad. I think they are doing work on the water lines in my area.

Which two sediments? I'm thinking of putting a cheap (~$3) as the first sediment just to trap the massive amounts of large crap in the water.

Sounds like a sediment spin down filter with the valve on the bottom and a 20-100 micron (size as needed for you specific sediment problem) mesh filter or similar on it wouldnt be a bad idea..
You can see and easily drain them out real quick and don't need to replace it like other filters...

My city water was the same way. I'd run through 2 sediment in 100gallons of rodi made. Are you using a softner?
