I just fired up a new Sedra 900 needlewheel on a asm clone that I created on a asm clone made out of 8" pipe approx 23" in height. I am very dissapointed with the bubble production. What should I be expecting with this pump with the stock venturi included with the unit. The pump is putting out but I figured it would be a greater volume of smaller bubbles. Any advise on bubble volume that should be being produced? Maybe this is a defective pump????

Here is a photo of the output...

You will get larger and less bubbles using fresh water. I tried this as well. Once you use saltwater, you will be impressed.

Another thing worth mentioning is the depth of the pump. Keep it close to the surface of the water and youi will reduce the preasure needed to get the air outpur you are looking for while also getting the more organic rich water into the skimmer.

I am running a Sedra 900 in a DIY application and it has performed wonderfully for about a year now.
