Seeding Phytoplankton?

Hey everyone,
Im starting to culture my own phyto. I was wondering if i can start it with a new bottle of DT's i have in the fridge... if so, how much do i need to put?

i also have a fresh batch of Ove a canadian manufacture of phyto... ive heard DTs cant be tampered with so I will try with Ove...just wondering how much i would need

Why? So i dont have to buy it anymore! i feed it to my tank daily... pods explode with it!

I am aware of what it is used for, but in the long run it is probably cheaper and much less time consuming to use commercially cultured stuff. I did it for years when I was raising clowns and I hated doing it.
Use something like this. Also feeding it to your tank everyday is way overboard IMO. Also you will way, way, way over produce it. You will need like 6-7 bottles of it use a few milliliters then dump the rest. Also these cultures do not start and stop very well. They work best as a continuous culture. You should read up on it before wasting your money. However if you do decide to do it I have an air pump I would be willing to sell. LMK.
