Seeking advice on Multicontroller - Steam placement

Hi Roger,

I'm currently using Tunze multicontroller and 2 of Tunze Stream 6100 in my 150 gallon tank. Specification of tank (h x w x l) 14.75 x 34.5 x 58 in inches

As you can see, it is a shallow tank. I currently placed Steam on one side of tank, Plug one pump to socket 1 of multicontroller, and the other to socket 4 of multicontroller.

I had tried tidal mode before, but it means one pump is always on. This has ripped off the tissue on a few sps, so I change it to alternating (therefore chanel 1a, and chanel 2b on the multicontroller). I hope this makes sense because I may not use the right term in the user manuel.

I hide both stream in Tunze rock, and kept them on the back side of the tank so that stream/rock are not visible. I also tilted the rock slightly upward to avoid blowing sand off the bottom.

Well - I'm writing because I do not like this setup - and I appreciate you advice. Currently I'm not getting enough flow on the bottom - therefore algae is growing on the sand. Also - since only one stream is on at a time, they don't create random current (i.e. where if one is pointing at another - and both on at the same time).

Recently I was introduced to convert this tank to bare-bottom with starboard. I'm about to take everything out - siphon out the sand/water. So I want to reposition the Tunze stream.

My question is - how would you place the stream? Is it possible for both pump to be on randomly with multi-controller? I do not want one pump in channel one to be on all the time. I want them to be on and off at different one - where sometime they are both on. How would I configure the Multicontroller?

Also, will there be a larger Tunze rock that will fit 6200?

Thank you,
Peter

The tissue recesion will subside, I can't say that it isn't possible to destroy a colony but certainly many of these corals have at least this much flow in the wild and it is only a matter of acclimation. You could use Sequence mode. The first pump will always be on and pulsing and then the 2nd, 3rd and 4th pumps come on in sequence and it starts again. With only two pumps it jumps from 1 to 4. The effect is somewhat random because the pump in socket 4 can come on at high or low speed at random.

I know we have spoken about a rock for the 6200 and I will ask again when I am in Germany next week.
