ok my seio 820 just puked.its only 6 mnths old!!!! is anyone using the maxijet mods still or anyone selling them and what do you think of them.i have too many things going on right now to dump 700.00 into a tunze setup. thanks

Go to the DIY forum and ask. There is one place for sure, but I can't remember the site. I'm using a maxi 1200 on a sea swirl and it rocks. Easily 1000 gph.

thanks

thanks

thank you for the info. i just dont want to drop 800.00 to 1000.00 on powerheads and a controller. im thinking of a oceansmotion system. thanks again

When you say it puked what exactly do you mean? Is it electrically shot? Have you soaked it in vinegar or cleaned it in any way? Mine have been working flawlessly since the very first week they were shipped to Phoenix over two years ago. I pull them out and soak them about once every four to six months and thats it.

aren't maxijet 1200 295gph?

I was just about to post and I noticed this thread... mine is pretty much brand new and it was ran in the water for 3 days... decided it was too strong so I pulled it out and just left it to dry. Now when I try to run it, it refuses to start, I don't even feel the vibration of the motor. Should I still try soaking it in vinegar (over night?)? Or is that pretty much it...?

It probably only needs to be disassembled and soaked in warm water. I have several pumps with tight tolerances that do the same thing if not rinsed well before putting them away. Something else I discovered early on with my Seios is on the lower end of the magnet right by the end of the shaft and the rubber bushing, it took a little bit of filing off some rough plastic that tended to build up calcium over time. Once I smoothed that out calcium no longer collects there and slows the impeller down anymore. This is especially true if you run a calcium reactor or otherwise have high calcium.
