Seio Pump Question

I recently bought a Seio 1500 and it mention that if you take the strainer off this will decrease the flow. Can someone explain if this is true, because I currently have the strainer off, but if this hold true I might put the strainer back on.

Never heard that strainers increase flow, however crud going into the pump can decrease flow. I run all my pumps/powerheads with strainers to keep some large wad of crud from jamming up the impeller.

I run mine without them and I cant notice a difference. Plus I think they look cooler.

I run mine without. You will get better flow from them and a wider pattern.
