I'm sure it's a Seio controller thread. But, somehow a lot of Seio bashing came about. Regardless of what is said in here I plan on getting mine.

I believe if you make a purchase from anyone or anywhere you must give them a chance to rectify any negative situations and not bash the company becuase you got 1 bad one out of thousands. Call em up and say I got a bad one, can you help me out. Going on a forum and complaining is like singing to the choir.

But, then again I'm a newbie... what do I know?

I am planning on getting one as well, regardless. I have had 2 820's for 6 months now and the only problem is calicum buildup on the magnet on the impeller, nothing a little elbow grease wont fix. They have always started up for me just fine. I just cant spend a ton of money right now so Tunzes are not an option for me.

It was breifly discussed, but very confusingly and I couldnt get a straight answer out of what was wrote.


So im still wondering as well...

I read in another thread that there is a way you can reduce the flow on the Seio's by reducing the intake, or something like that... how so?

FYI..

Spoke with a fellow local reefer I bought my 1500's from. He purchased Stream's and said he has the same issue of Calcium buildup on his Tunze as well...

I don't see why they wouldn't work, but...

I think you will have to keep wondering until someone buys one and tries it.

There is a ring on the outside of the sieo that can be rotated to block some of the intake slots.

From reading the outside of the box, I myself am not expecting anything more than a high & low speed, no independent control of two sieo's, very limited timing functions. I currently own a sieo 1100, no problems to date, but will continue to put money away for a pair of tunze's and controller.

For the Seio owners... what do you do for night and feeding times? Do you shut them off or turn them down at all?

shut it off for feeding and leave it on at night.

I never turn mine off. I just turn off the main return pump during feeding.
