Seio`s Multicontroller

The polario was demo'd at IMAC. It is designed for closed loops pretty much. It alternates from left to right. Apparently a sort of turbine design. Supposedly very low heat and very low electrical consumption with very high flows. Can be submersed or external. Comes with attachments that allow it to be easily fit "inline" with 2" plumbing.

how reliable do you think it will be.. if its anything like the rest of taam i think alot of people will be hesitant

Who knows. It's not like anyone's actually used one long term.

Look, as much as people like to bad mouth and whatever, personally, I gotta say that the UL listed rios, the hyperflows and the SEIOs have not ever really given me any problems. I've got 2 SEIO 620s from lord knows when on my office tank on a wavemaker doing just fine. The non UL listed rios....well yeah...I've had my share of those die. You get what you pay for. If you want a rebuildable, live forever, high effeciency powerhead you pony up for a Tunze. Maxijets? I kill those off routinely, so I don't wanna hear about them.

As for this new product, I'll try it. Why? What else can claim to do even half of the spec sheet of the Polario? Uh....nothing. 10,000gall/hr alternating flow? That's INSANE.

...hey.. how about you PM me some details about how those Seios are doing on that wavetimer? :)

? why PM? It's just two 620's on an aquatronica powerstrip going on/off randomly.

Do they rattle when they go on? Is there any kind of soft start?

I have two 820's that I'd like to run on a wavetimer.

I have my 1100s on a Reeffanatic wave timer for about 4 months now. About a min on and a min off. I couldnt do it when I was still dosing kalk though.

10000 gph seems very high. not sure if this will be good for ym 130

are you 100 percent sure it isnt LPH ( i know i said it befor but maybe taam mistyped sotmhing on there pdf.. its very common)
i bet those things will be about 500 bucks or more. basing that on the fact that tamm is selling the controller for 200.
this is a pump and a controller

should have taam send reefcast one of those so they can review it and maybe use it as a prize lol i doubt taam would tho hehe altho i do thing it would help boos tthe sales if it got a positive review from some one like them

I doubt they care. As much as it seems like RC and the RC geeks is the reefing world to us, there's a much, much larger market out there. And at 500 they restrict that market, but at 300 it gets much larger.

It's gallons. Verified by Tat of TAAM

Louis,
The controller is not out yet but will be shipping in 4 weeks.
The SEIO super flow pump is the latest addition to the Rio family of professional grade water pumps. These pumps are the next generation in water circulation designed to create high water flow quietly and effectively. Water circulation is your life support for an aquatic system. SEIO patented design will produce a water volume and a wide path of water current. Unlike the typical flow of conventional pump, a narrow stream, the SEIO water pump creates a gentle flow combined with energy efficiency and high power factor. The SEIO The turbine rotor and patented design creates a pump with the best water flow to power consumption ration of any water pump on the market today.

Now controllable the new SEIO controller will change the speed of two pumps from low to high without causing any damage to the pump or rotor. The pumps will operate at approximately 30% then will increase the flow to 100%. The surge can be set from every 15sec. to every 30 minutes. There two preset feeding buttons that will turn pumps off for either 8 min. or 16 min. then will automatically switch back to auto. Works with 1100, 1500 and 2600 water pumps. These controllers are not intended to work with SEIO water pumps only.

Coming soon Polario

What?!??1! you mean there are reefers out there who AREN'T on RC constantly? How can anyone have a reef tank without RC?

Works with 1100 and up only? Not with 820's?

I posted this, a few days ago

I think this thread keeps going in circles with the controller, thats why the polario is what the conversation has shifted its focus to.

Yes, its been said a few times by now that the controller will only work with 1100 on up, and maybe with other pumps as well on a sort of hit or miss basis. nobody knows exactly when its coming out, but its a matter of them being 'on the way' as of right now. Its suggested MSRP is $200, and it changes from 30 to 100% flow in 15second to 30minute incriments.

15 pages of random RC posting isnt that much to go back and read before posting the same question for the 3rd time.
