SEIO SUPER FLOW Club!

I'm thinking of replacing my powerheads with a couple of these. Would you guys recommend 2 1500 or 2 2600s for a 6' 125 mainly LPS tank?

I'm running 2 1500's and 2 MXJ with wavemaker in a 125. Thinking of replacing the MXJ's with 2600's or another pair of 1500's.

You guys scare me.. I just purchased 2 1500's for my 125g replacing my 820's. When I have a Iwaki 1200gph pump running my return and 2 1500's and a 600gph pump in the center that's got to be good flow..

I only run one SEIO pump at a time.. Left side in the morning center all day and right side afternoon-evening since we shouldn't use wavemakers.

:D

IMHO: Your flow is a little on the light side. Your running under 30x flow based on your pumps and cycle.

I have read this entire thread and still not sure what size Seio to use on my 125 gallon reef (mostly softies and lps) - howevre, I would like to use just 2 to keep th etank clutter down - so based on 2 ph's, should I use 1500s or 2600s. Please don't respond with the "more is better" answer - the real question is will (2) 1500s be adequate for this set up or do I really need the 2600s.

Is this enough flow for a 90 gallon mixed reef?
2 ea. seio 1100
2 ea. MJ 1200
I am flowing about 400 to 450 gph through my 30 gal.sump.

I just received the 1100 and quite frankly thought there would be more flow to them. I installed them with the casing and I'm using the suction cups. I will probably modify them eventually.

So will this work for a mixed or do I need more?

Regards,

Pat

You don't need 2600's. I have 2 1500's in my 100 gal. tank. Which is just a foot shorter than a 125 and I'm having problems keeping the sand in one spot. But it's very fine sand. For a softy/lps tank 2 1500's would be more than enough.

IMHO Yes if you have a mixed reef.

I have 2x 1500's in my 6' 180 gallon soft coral tank and I don't think I would want any more. They move the water around pretty good. If you had sps, then you would want the 2600's or more.

i posted in the wanted adds but i figure i should ask in this forum any one got some 1500s theyd sell? i think that is what i decided i needed

Questions to the group:
How will the new (mythical) controler work? Will it be a separate device to purchase to use on existing seio's? And of course the never ending question: when will they be avaliable? I've got a 180 gal mixed that desparetly needs more flow and I'm leaning towards a couple of seio's but I really want a wave action.
Thanks

Whats up guys...I am going to be setting up a 28 bowfront... The dimensions are 24" long by 18" high by 12" deep. I am going to use seio's for my powerheads. It is not going to contain sps.. I was thinking a 620 would be substantial.. What would you suggest? Also there is going to be a sand bed probably about 2-3" deep. Thanks!

I bought two SEIO 1500's for my 100 gallon. As soon as I turned the suckers on, it was like my tank was undergoing a massive storm at sea....blew everything off my rocks, inverts went flyin, fish were spinning upside down and what not. I had to crank back the internal flow control to settle it all down....now they seem to be working just fine.

For those guys with failed pumps was it the impeller that needed to be replaced or a bigger problem?

I'm also talking to those guys that have there's on wave makers.

If the fix on the failed pumps are to replace the impeller then I may just buy a few and replace when needed (after a few months).

Where can we buy parts?

My impeller magnet is cracked on my 1500 after 6 weeks use - no timers or anything - on always...

I have a 58gal oceanic. what seio model would be best suited for me? Right now I have 2 mj1200's and need more flow.

Sounds familiar! My 1500 did that after a week! I sent it back to Champion where I bought it from and they sent me a whole new pump.

Waiting on a replacement impeller for my 1100, it was stopping and starting from the moment I turned it on (well really it was only stopping and not starting back up again, I had to keep jump starting it!!). My supplier is going to send me a new impeller, so I should have it in a couple of days. I could have sent the whole thing back for them to replace, but since i had another 1100 that I bought at the same time, I was able to swap impellers around and replicate the problem in the know good pump. So defiantly the impeller!

Yeah, those ice cap powerheads will sure be nice, but they are going to run you in the 200 dollar range.

Probably worth it, but SEIO powerheads will not be going away anytime soon.

I heard they were going to be more like $300.00 same as tunze.
