Sell me on the Profilux please

Michael,

I am looking to get a controller and am deciding between Profilux III, Reefkeeper Elite and Neptune Apex. I have heard great things about the profilux but want to hear why I should invest twice as much money to get the profilux over the other two (especially when you consider the other controllers supply 8 outlets to Profilux's 6 outlets and I can purchase additional outlets at half of what I can for the Profilux). Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.

wow where do we start

Standard built in functionality that does not require costly expansion boxes
Future proof, the Profilux is like a pc you just add future developments to it (pc cards) so you never have to worry about buying another controller again
FREE for life software so you controller can be controlled by pc
German built bullet proof reliability, you never see a post "my Profilux has died"
Zero issues with probes

Power bars - GHL took the choice to make high perfomance power strips limiting it 6 sockets per strip to reduce the risk of overload, also if you look at the way the stip is made you can fit adapters to it without the risk of the adapter blocking other sockets. The power strips come with double pole expensive industrial relays able to cope with the huge demands that lighting can have on strips. The power strips are also user serviceable in the event you accidentlly damage or over drive an outlet.

The Profilux range has well over 100 additonal accessories which reduces the need for thrird party accessories for all sorts of applications.

With profiLux you have German built bullet proof quality - future proof design - and more built in functionality than we believe any other controller.

You are comparing a Hum-Vee (Profilux) to a Chevy (RKE/Apex)
Nothing wrong with a Chevy. But it has limitations that the Hum-Vee does not.

Realistically, if you look at the life cycle costs - that should convince you. The other companies force you to buy their complete new controller to get the latest features, where the Profilux is consumer up-gradeable. GHL has a business philosophy of NO obsolete units.
Even their oldest, first generation unit can be up-graded to the latest model.
And the capabilities are almost endless witht eh PLC add ons!

I wouldn't say Hum-Vee (some don't like them). It is more like a lamborghini compared to a go-cart. I made the mistake of buying a RKE and had nothing but problems. They eventually fixed all my problems and after about 3 months of normal operation my entire system went dead. It turns out one of the bus cables went bad. It destroyed all of my modules. 5x PC-4's 2x SL-1's. No help from DA. I'm sure Apex is built with a similar design. After owning RKE, and Profilux, and seeing Apex in action, I would never recommend another controller other than Profilux.

After I got my P2 I was kicking myself for not getting it sooner. Not only is it much better built durable, etc... The control functions are second to none.
IMO it is worth the extra money to have the Profilux control program the controller with the PC. So easy, so much power. No pressing small buttons on a small screen.

I see you have a large tank, with LED lighting. Look into Profilux LED control. It appears to be a step above the other controllers. I have no experience with the LEDs so perhaps someone who has them can chime in.

You will not be disappointed in your Profilux.
Also the dosing unit is great! I'm getting one soon to dose vodka.
If you have any questions specifically just ask, the support is great.

jj - I was using the Hum-Vee as a military, TOUGH, and robust vehicle. Not to offend any of our tree hugging sensabilities here!:spin1:
The only fear I have about the Lamborghini comparison - is if you have owned Italian cars ( or electronics...) you know that they are not as reliable, and cost a lot to repair.

The robust nature of the GHL products was my point, re: Hum-vee comparitive.
But - hey, I would drive a Lambo...as long as it was armored, sporting twin .50 cal's and had 4- wheel drive!:spin3:

LOL, I want one :eek2:
Good points. Profilux does have the robustness of the Hum-Vee with the flare of a lambo. Best of both worlds.

The three most powerful points I think are

Quality and reliability (well proven)

FREE for life software and free updates, other brands either charge you for this or do not have any at all

Future proof - never having to worry about obsolete parts, ProfiLux is buy once grow with the brand as you choose and keep forever.

It like a Mercedes-Benz v. Hynduai. Both cars, both transportation, both will breakdown. However, one holds it value, safer, more reliable and is nicer. The built-in AI LED light control, the RKE does not come close to what the GHL will do.

it is being worked on.

I can not assure GHL will be the first to rush it out as they never rush anything, they get it right first time even if that does not mean the first on the market, but it will come this year, i am sure long before the year is out also.

it will have one of the most advanced functionalities as this is already developed for the Tunze.

the profilux is a ferrari
the reefkeeper is a toyota
the apex is a honda

i dont know about you but the ferrari is my choice

I like the automotive comparisons. So can someone suggest where I can buy the Ferrari online? The profilux in case someone only reads my post on this thread? :)
