Sell me on the Tunze skimmer

Additionally, check out the response Mr. Vitko gives in this forum to anyone who has the slightest problem with Tunze equipment. My favorite so far was the thread that went "Do you just need a new impeller, or a whole new pump? Nevermind, I'll just send you a whole new pump."

Even though I represent the Tunze range in Australia I personally try to support small companies over large factories that regard the dollar as the bottom line...
I know the US market is flooded with product from countries that produce mass volume product as is Australia.
Personally I prefer to pay a few dollars more and buy from the company with a face and support.

I've been running a 9020 for about a month now and I have to say that I love it. The 9020 is basically two 9015's glued together. The 9015 is a 9010 with the foam extractor.
It is amazingly small. No real setup. Plug it in and forget about it (other than cleaning the cup which is quick and easy).
One look at the bubbles and the bubble path in the neck is enough to see one reason it works so well. Once in the neck the air bubbles make a non-tubulent path for the surface. This brings the future skimmate towards the top where it accumulates until the surface tension on the outside of the air bubbles is enough for it to rise high enough to get blown out of the foam extractor.
I've owned and operated airblock counter current, downdraft, pond foamer, needlewheel, and other skimers but I'm impressed by how well these little skimmers work.
Additionally, they are nearly silent and use very little electricty.

I just replaced a Octopus 110 recirc skimmer with a Tunze 9010. The Octopus is a nice skimmer. Get the Tunze.
