no i actually have an order for a few of his clowns, but they are not ready yet. there juv. im looking for older clowns from his original batch that he sold a couple years ago.

How long does it take a juvenile pair of clowns to start to blacken up? I've had mine since Feb. They have a little black between the first and second white stripe and no black between the middle and tail stripe. When I got them they didn't even have tail stripes.

How long does it take to fully color up usually?

NewSchool04, I added mine in february also. The front is almost completely black, except the dorsal. The back is starting to fill in black but still not all the way there.
I'm not sure if there is a set time for how long it takes to completely color up. I would guess 1.5 - 2.5 years?
Rod would probably know best...

in general,

there are many factors that will result in good color.
with Rodonyx, you have a great premise to work with.

factors:

a. genetics
b. food
c. aquarium size
d. water quality
e. food, i strongly recommend anyone local to rod use his food. i
do not think its all genetics that rods clowns have amazing
color at such an early age.
f. pairing / hosting

i agree with craftytonys time frame of rodonyx dev. based on conditions with the variables noted above.

depends on what i pair up with it and how close it might be to mating age.

i assume your asking me bec you have one you are considering, otherwise your question has no validity.

and yes i have alot more systems than the one posted at the bottom of my thread.

there are few out there that take better care of there clowns than i do.

I have a few, never thought about selling, but have considered changing my big tank to an aggressive tank. Will think about it, if I go for it will pm you. I saw your gallery it looks like you have great coloration on your clowns, just saw teh 12 gallon in your sig.
