Selling Everything - East Side of Des Moines - ALL MUST GO

I have now been living in South Carolina for nearly 2 years and most of my stuff is still in Iowa. I am in need of some money and have decided to sell pretty much everything I have left there in Des Moines setup at a friends house.

This is stuff that I acquired from ReefFreak. I have two 50-gallon stock tanks, a lot of PVC plumbing, pumps, waterheads, tanks and more. The only thing I am keeping is my MH lights, RO/DI Water filter and refugium.

I have not seen any of this stuff for two years, so I am forgetting what all is there. Photos of some of the equipment can be seen here:http://www.dustinsreef.com/mefolioCategory.asp?catID=52

I have been told that some of the corals are dying off. So what you see at pickup is what you get. I would rather not part everything out. Take all of it or nothing. I am looking for the best offer. Everything can be picked up on the east-side of Des Moines.

- 2 Tables for supporting 50-gallon stock tanks
- 2 Rubbermaid Ag Stock tanks
- 1 100-gallon Rubbermaid Ag Stock
- 50-gallon RO/DI water drum (has been sterilized for human consumption of water
- 1 Kent Marine Skimmer
- 150+ lbs of live sand (much of this sand is Southdown)
- 75+ lbs of live rock
- several powerheads of misc sizes
- at least one electronic timer
- any corals, crabs, starfish living
- egg-crate
- 1 Kent Marine kalk drip jug
- TDS Meter and all of the stuff that goes along with being a reef-keeper.

You will see clams in the photos, but they are not included as I no longer have them.

If you are interested in this stuff, you can contact me at dknape at gmail dot com. Please provide me with your phone number so that I may contact you.

There is more stuff there, I just do not know what all is there. I must make one provision. That is that once I have a new tank setup and running here, I want a frag clipping of certain surviving corals. I will mention these by phone.

I would like to have this sale completed by the time I go on a trip this Saturday, May 6th. I will be taking the highest bidder on Friday and hope to have the money via a certified check or money order which may be given to the person who is keeping my stuff. He will then overnight the check to me.

When I purchase this from ReefFreak, I paid about $500. I am now selling a lot more then what I purchased from him. Make me an offer. If I do not see the figure I am thinking of by Thursday or Friday, I will start considering any email offers for individual items.

Please DO NOT send me private messages. They are too hard to keep track of through continous communication and they fill up too quickly. I will not do any shipping. You must be able to pickup in Des Moines, preferably by this Saturday or Sunday.

I just wanted to tell everyone that I consider the corals more of a bonus. Because I am not currently sure of the quality of them, I cannot put a price on any corals.

I have other items that I had forgotten about.

- Brillo-Pad Algea (the 2nd greatest algea in my opinion)
- Tuxedo Urchin (good health)
- Sand Sifting Starfish (good health)
- misc crabs including zebra, red and blue hermit
- 29-gallon AGA aquarium, AGA wood stand and canopy. Stand retrofitted for lock and canopy retrofitted for PC lights.
- 2 Electronic timers

I know you don't want to part it out, but if it comes to that, I'd love the following:

powerheads
eggcrate
TDS meter
tuxedo urchin
misc. cleaners-crabs, snails
refractometer, if you have one
20# or so of LR
any misc. corals
electric timer

Please use email for all correspondence.

When sending a request to me, please also include your final offer. I will be making sales final to the highest bidder this next Monday.

Anyone interested in taking everything I have listed including a 29-gallon tank, stand, canopy for $500?

If no one offers $500, I will go as low as $400. Please DO NOT REPLY to this thread. Please ONLY send email to me at dknape at gmail dot com.

This is a very good deal!

It includes EVERYTHING mentioned above except for the water filter. Anything saltwater related you see when there is yours.

Someone before has asked what the powerheads are. They are MaxiJets and some large RIO's. I also have a larger pump (i cannot remember the brand or size, but it is a larger external pump).

Here are more photos of the stuff for sale...

Items not for sale include the lights, RO/DI filter, computer and stand and clear narrow partitioned tanks. I have two SeaClear tanks available.

Link above requires Macromedia Flash.

Please do not think about livestock when considering this offer. I am considering all livestock as pure bonuses as I do not know the quality or health of any items.

I will continue to add more photos to the above link including some of the corals I had in my 29 at the time I took everything over the Chris' house. BUT PLEASE UNDERSTAND that these are what they looked like then. I have not seen any photos of these and my understanding is that some of them look a little sad at this time.

I also believe that my orange cap is either dead or close to dead or at least not doing well.

As I have been saying, all livestock should only be considered to be a bonus. I need to get rid of everything so I just want to get a little of what I put into the hardware and equipment.

Here is the link again. HERE

Everything I have ever owned personally is now over at Chris' house. All has got to go with the exception of what I noted above.

Hey dustin, long time no see. I bought some live rock from you a few years ago. Still doing good BTW.

I will accept EMAIL offers on this refugium as well. This is my own DIY project. I have an overflow as well that can go with it.

I'll even throw in the automatic shutoff switch that controls the pump to prevent flooding in the main tank.

Everything will be sold as a package deal. I do not want to make my friend deal with multiple persons coming into his house to shop. Sorry, but I just want to keep my friendship with him.

I have forgotten that I also have a BakPak 2 Skimmer that I used on my 29-gallon AGA. It too is available. I will sell this separately however if anyone is interested.

You might as well part it out, you're more likely to actually get rid of it that way. Sure it's inconvenient for a few people to come by to pick up stuff, but then again how convenient is it for your friend to continue to take of this tank indefinetely, week after week? Better to put up with a week or two of inconvenience compared to 2+ years of taking care of a tanks that's not yours. Just MHO though :lol2:

Thank you for your advice. I believe I have a person who will be picking it all up on Sunday. There are a few items that can be sold seperately and I am fine with that such as the fuge. However, if you start parting out other items like the stock tanks, what should a person do with everything inside of there first? What should a person do with all of the livestock such as crabs and such if a person wants the live rock/sand? How can I part out and sell the lights or pumps when everything else is still got to live?

I feel that as a whole is the best way possible for right now. When you look at what I am getting rid of and the typical cost of purchases in this hobby, I am letting go of everything at very good prices. If there were no livestock or live rock/sand, then parting out would not be a problem. But all of that would have to go at once or quickly with each other.

As far as my friend goes, we have worked out an agreement that he is able to profit as well. But then again, these things were worked out and agreed upon long ago.
